St. John Tourney success CLHS Boys soccer played well at the St. John tournament on November 18th. The Saders had a 3-1 record with wins against Emery Weiner, Kipp, and St. John. Their loss came against the British School with a 1-0 outcome. Unfortunately, based on goal differential, the Saders missed the championship game. The crusader football team was pushed out of the playoffs by Trinity Christian from Addison by a score of 22-39 Saturday, November 13.  It was a heartbreaking loss after a very successful regular season. The Concordia Crusader football team took on the Hitchcock Bulldogs last Friday night and beat them by a score of 40-12. The Crusaders were led on offense by a pair of touchdown passes from A. Garza to B. Hurley and a shutdown defense. Crusader special teams set the tone for the game when J. Reynolds blocked a punt for a safety. JV Boys results Varsity Boys Results Due to Hurricane Harvey, the Crusader Boys Cross Country Team was not able to take their annual, overnight teambuilding trip to race in a meet in Waxahachie.  Fortunately, due to some additional hurricane-related schedule changes, the boys made up for this experience with a road trip this past weekend to UT-Arlington’s Gerald Richey Invitational.  The boys were able to see several college teams race, as well as run with some of the best high school runners in the region, running in both the 1A-4A Varsity and the 5A-6A Varsity Divisions. The Concordia Lutheran Football team beat the Second Baptist Eagles in stunning fashion on Friday night 24-22. The Eagles were the first to put points on the board when their opening drive stalled and they were forced to kick a field goal. The Crusaders struggled to move the ball on their opening possession and punted the ball away to the Eagles. Second Baptist drove down the field and scored early in the 2nd quarter to go up 10-0. The Lady Crusader Cross Country Team ran home with SECOND place at the Galveston Ball High School Meet on Friday, Sept.8th. The meet was attended by 5A/6A public schools as Concordia was just one of two private schools in attendance. In the Varsity girls 4k (2.5 miles) race, there were 16 teams and 112 athletes. Concordia had six girls in the Varsity race consisting of one Freshman, three Sophomores, one Junior and one Senior.
