The Lady Crusaders started off their regional playoff run in College Station with a 34-29 victory over a scrappy Trinity Christian Addison team. Shelby Sanderson led the team with 18 points most of which came from the free throw line and Brooke Atheron added 14. The following day the Saders played a very tough Plano Prestonwood team and would end their season with a 52-38 loss. It was an incredible year for the girls going 27-14 on the season. The Girls basketball team won their district tournament semi-final game in dominating fashion Saturday afternoon beating Duchesne 59-32. Brooke Atherton led all scorers with a team high 30 points. The Crusader Boys Basketball team took the crown of district champs last night with their win over The Village School. Led by one of the top 3 point shooting offenses in the nation, according to Maxpreps, and stifling defense, the boys defeated a tough Village team 51-43. Boys Basketball Moves to 7-1 in District The Crusader Basketball team traveled to Beaumont on Tuesday to take on the Kelly Bulldogs. It took some extra work to collar the Bulldogs, but they were able to do it with a great team effort and a buzzer beater by Pierce Hellums. The boys will take the court tonight against AWTY.
Sader Swimming represents well at TAPP’S Eastern Regional Championships. The Crusader swimming team headed to the University of Houston on Friday to compete in the TAPPS’ Eastern Regional Championships. The Boy’s team had a strong showing winning 7 of the 11 events and finishing in 3rd place out of 7 teams. Concordia Boys Basketball lived up to it’s number one ranking by defeating the St. Pius Panthers for the 2nd time in district play. It was a tight one until the second half when the Crusaders caught fire and outscored the Panthers 53-37 to claim the victory 87-79. The boys will travel to Beaumont Kelly tomorrow to take on the Bulldogs who are 4-2 in district. Last Friday night the Lady Saders Basketball Team won 51-39, defeating a tough and well coached St. Agnes team. Coach Mazco praised the effort of the team and their perseverance as they defeated their district opponents.
