On Monday night the Touchdown Club of Houston, presented by the Hildebrand Foundation and Houston Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine held their sixth annual awards dinner and recognized the top Greater Houston private high school football players and coaches. It was a wonderful night led by guest speaker, World Champion Houston Astros manager A.J. Hinch. Helping hand out the awards were two Texas High School Hall of Fame coaches — Ray Seals and Mike Johnston.
The Crusader football team was represented by head coach Bobby Lindquist – Coach of the year nominee, K. Ross – Offensive player of the year nominee and N. Barboza – Lineman of the year nominee. Despite having stellar accolades on and off the field and leading Concordia to their best record (8-2) in school history since moving up to 5/6A neither K. Ross or N. Barboza were given an award.
After leading the Concordia Crusaders to a district runner-up finish for the first time in school history in District 3 6A. The coaches and athletic directors of Houston Private Schools awarded him with the Touchdown Club of Houston Private School Coach of the Year award. Coach Lindquist was very gracious for the award.
