The Crusaders stole the lead late in the game in a 10-4 victory over Central Catholic on Thursday. The game was tied at four with Crusaders batting in the top of the eighth when S. Polk tripled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs. Concordia secured the victory thanks to six runs in the eighth inning. A walk by J. Flaskamp, a triple by Polk, and a single by J. Young drove Concordia’s big inning. They captured the lead in the second inning. W. Maynard singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Central Catholic evened things up at four in the bottom of the fourth inning. Acosta drove in one when he singled. Black was the winning pitcher for the Crusaders. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out six. Marks started the game for Central Catholic. He lasted three innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out five. Girod and #30 entered the game as relief, throwing four and a third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively. Petro started the game for Concordia. He allowed three hits and four runs over three innings, striking out one and walking zero. The Crusaders socked one home run on the day when R. Diaz had a four bagger in the first inning. Polk, T. Burnett, D. Simmons, Young, Maynard, and Diaz each managed one hit to lead Crusaders. Acosta went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Central Catholic in hits.
