The girls cross country team was busy running last week, competing in the Faith West Cross country meet on October 15th  and the district meet last Tuesday.
The Girls did an amazing job at Faith West with both Varsity and JV teams achieving first place. The Varsity ladies placed first out of 16 teams and the JV ladies placed first as well and scored a total of 16 points, just one point over a perfect cross country score.
Coach Luevano was so proud of the entire team and their efforts. Coach Luevano praised the girls’ work ethic stating: “They have shown such incredible perseverance as they have pushed through the tough weekly workouts. Their perseverance could be seen at this meet, not only with the team results but with the times they individually achieved as well! Of the 15 ladies that ran yesterday, 11 of them hit personal best times! With this meet being their last meet of the 2016 season before District and State, the results were extremely exciting to see.”
After an inspiring pre-district meet, the girls traveled to Bear Creek park to compete in the District cross country meet.  The girls continued their success by placing 2nd in the meet.  Sophomore, Annie Walker, led the way for the Crusaders and Seniors Reagan Satterfield and Zoe Feinberg followed close behind to help secure 2nd place.  Emily Engelbart, Rachel Brownell, Emma Flora and Camila Falcon also chipped in for the Crusaders.
The Girls will be traveling to Waco to compete in the TAPPS State Cross Country Meet this Weekend.
