The crusader football team was pushed out of the playoffs by Trinity Christian from Addison by a score of 22-39 Saturday, November 13. It was a heartbreaking loss after a very successful regular season.
In their district campaign, leading up to the playoff game, the Crusaders went 2-1. They started district play with an 11 point loss to state semifinalists St. Pius 42-53. It was a back and forth game that saw the Crusaders tie the game up coming out of halftime. After the tough loss the Crusaders bounced back in historic fashion by beating the St. Thomas Eagles 38-31. The victory had a historic significance because CLHS had never conquered the Eagles. The win propelled the crusaders into second place as they headed into the last game of the year to take on Beaumont Kelly. CLHS took care of business by beating the Bulldogs 65-34 and solidifying second place in TAPPS 6A District 3.
