The Crusader Volleyball team won their first 6A State Championship Friday afternoon in Brownwood.  It was an intense and tightly contested match that went to the 5th set.  In the 5th set the Lady Friars went up 13-11 over the Crusaders when Coach Odinga called a timeout to rally her players.  After the timeout the Crusaders cut the lead to one, but Lynch scored again to make it match point.  The girls cut the lead to one again and eventually tied it up 14-14.  After escaping defeat the Lady Crusaders never trailed Bishop Lynch again.  Although the Lady Friars tied up the set they could not over come the Crusaders.  The rest of the set went: 15-14 CL, 15-15, 16-15 CL, 16-16, 17-16 CL, 17-17, 18-17, 18-18, 19-18 CL, and 20-18 for the victory.  It was a great finish to the season for the Crusader Volleyball team who lost to Bishop Lynch early in the season.  They finished the season undefeated in District (14-0) and 37-11 overall.
