Crusaders fall 2-6 to Beaumont Kelly

The Concordia Lutheran Crusaders fell to Kelly Catholic Bulldogs last night in Crosby.  Kelly got things moving in the first inning when Breaux singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fifth when Kelly scored one. In the top of the sixth, S. Polk launched a 2-run home run to cut the lead to 1. The bulldogs answered back with 3 runs in the bottom of the inning to extend their lead to four. Concordia was unable to answer back and fell in the semi-final round of the TAPPS 6A state baseball tournament. Caleb Black was on the mound for Concordia. He lasted five and a third innings striking out nine and walking one. The Crusaders finish their season 16-15.
