The girls cross country teams did a great job at the Nike South Invitational this weekend. This meet contained extremely competitive schools from all across Texas. It was really exciting to not only run at this meet but to actually compete and beat some really good teams.
The Varsity Girls ran a 5k (3.1 miles), unlike their normal 2 mile race. Of the 18 Teams and 127 athletes in the Girls Varsity Race, Concordia placed 7th overall and were just shy of 6th place by only 2 points. The top two ladies that led the way for Concordia were L. Kastenschmidt (Fr) and E. Englebart (So). Their ranking was extremely impressive as Lauryn took 11th and Emily took 16th overall. Coach Luevano said “I am very happy with the results as today was all about mentally challenging themselves.”
The JV girls also took 7th place overall. Leading the way for those ladies were M. Jones (So) and M. Rasberry (Jr) who took 27th and 28th overall.
