Records fall at Gulf TISCA Invitational.

The lady Sader’s swimming team finished 13th out of 48 teams in the TISCA invitational at the Conroe Natatorium this weekend. The top performer of the day was Monica Gumina who broke three school records and achieved three automatic All-American time standards. Monica finished 2nd in the 200yd Freestyle with a time of 1:47.28 and 1st in the 100yd Freestyle with a time of 49.95. Freshman Erin Tilley added to her already impressive freshman season by qualifying for finals in both the 200yd Freestyle (13th place with a time of 1:55.60) and 100yd Freestyle (12th place with a time of 53.87) as well. The girls also had a pair of relays make finals, both of which set school records. The 200yd Freestyle relay comprised of Monica Gumina, Alexis Daubendiek, Kaiti Walko and Erin Tilley finished 10th overall with a time of 1:41.30 breaking the school record by three seconds. Monica Gumina also led off that relay with a new school record and All-American qualifying time of 23.51. The girls (Monica Gumina, Kaiti Walko, Alexis Daubendiek and Erin Tilley) finished off the night by breaking the school record in the 400yd Freestyle relay finishing 13th overall with a time of 3:41.32. That time would have been good enough to win the gold medal at last years Tapp’s Division 1 State Championship. The Sader swim team will be back in action on Wednesday night November 29th when they head to the Spring Branch Natatorium to take on St. John’s, Cy Woods and Houston Christian.
