The first match for the 2018 Concordia Lacrosse season was very competitive in the first half, but Westside High School outplayed the Crusaders in the final two quarters en route to a 15-3 defeat for the Crusaders. In only the school’s second season of having a DIII Lacrosse program, the Crusaders had some strong highlights but also several learning opportunities. In the first half, the Wolves from Westside got out to a quick 5-0 lead, but the Crusaders battled back to cut the deficit to 3 at one point when they were only down 6-3. However, the Wolves experience and ability to win the 50/50 balls led to 9 unanswered goals to finish the game. Leading the Crusaders was G. West (So.) with 2 goals and J. Beamesderfer (Jr.) with the other goal. Crusaders first year Goalie, N. Shappard (Jr.) had 9 saves. Concordia will look to build upon the positives of the first half of tonight’s game in their next game against Klein High School’s DIII team on Tuesday, Feb. 27th
