The Crusader softball team was busy over the weekend and this past Tuesday playing a lot of softball. They finished the week with an overall record of 5-1.  Below is a recap of their weekend

2/21 Crusader Softball scored big in a win over Cypress Christian 10-0.  Pitcher Maddie Quickel faced 16 batters and struck out 14, allowing only one hit and no runs.   Quickel and fellow senior, Jessica Geiger led the hitting for the Crusaders, each with two hits.

2/18 Seniors Maddie Quickel and Alyssa Iverson each went three for three at the plate, leading the Crusaders to a 10-2 victory over the Bay Area Christian Broncos.  The Crusaders finished with a record of 3-1 in the John Cooper tournament.

2/17 Senior Alyssa Iverson’s bat saved the day in the last inning and aided a come from behind victory over Northland, 4-3.  Iverson and Kaitlyn Hassell led the Crusaders with two hits each. Senior Jessica Geiger helped secure the victory with outstanding defense in the outfield, along with a seven strikeout effort by pitcher Maddie Quickel.

2/17 Crusader softball offense exploded scoring 16 runs on 13 hits, with Lindsay Wood, Ashton McClain, and Kaitlyn Hassell each with two hits.  Maddie Quickel secured the victory on the mound with seven strikeouts.  The final score was 16-2. 

2/16 Despite a 7 strikeout effort from Senior pitcher, Maddie Quickel, Crusader softball fell to John Cooper by a score of 2-0, in the first of four games in the John Cooper tournament.  Unfortunately, two crucial errors led to the two John Cooper runs and Crusaders bats could only managed two hits.
