Houston Christian 2/27

Crusader Softball opened their non-district schedule yesterday with 10-0 loss to Houston Christian at Baseball USA.  The team faced a tough pitcher, but was lead at the plate by a couple of freshmen Emily Frerking & Abby Koehn both going 1 for 2 .  The Lady Saders are young and are working hard.

Concordia Lutheran Crusaders Varsity struggled to get their offense going on Wednesday, getting easily dispatched by Cooper, 10-3. Concordia Lutheran Crusaders Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when Kate Hassell  singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.  After Concordia Lutheran Crusaders Varsity scored one run in the top of the third, Cooper answered with one of their own.  Concordia Lutheran Crusaders Varsity scored when Ashton McClain tripled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.  Cooper then answered when Harris singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. Cooper pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning.  In the fourth Donald singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Sloop singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Sanchez singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Harris singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, and Goossens singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Sanchez pitched Cooper to victory. She went seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out nine and walking zero. Lauren Haude  took the loss for Concordia Lutheran Crusaders Varsity. She allowed 11 hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out three.  Alyssa Ramirez, Madison Cresswell, Payton Bockenstedt, McClain, Addison Zipter , and Hassell  each managed one hit to lead Concordia Lutheran Crusaders Varsity.
