I. Zelaya Named Top 100 Players in the Nation For 2019

A four-year prep starter who led her team to a state title in 2016 and was VYPE Magazine Setter of the Year one year later, Zelaya has been instrumental to team success since arriving on the high school scene. Zelaya, who never comes off the court, dominates the front row as an attacker while using her high volleyball I.Q. to elevate her hitters as a back row setter. Zelaya will graduate early to head to Pepperdine, where she has committed. She’ll be a 5-1 setter in Malibu most likely, but don’t expect her offensive mindset to change. Zelaya is smart and capable and will find an opponent’s weakness and exploit it. A strong athlete and more than capable defender, Zelaya is relentless in the weight room and carries the same attitude in her determination to be a better player, teammate, and leader. Zelaya’s personality has the perfect balance of being fun loving and competitive. The Waves will be lucky to have her.
