Concordia Girls Golf Team Dominates Pre-Season Tournament with a Pink Out

Congrats to our Girls Golf Team on their 1st place team finish at the Stratford High School Golf Tournament on Monday, Oct. 3rd! The Crusaders traveled to Jersey Meadow Golf Course and dominated the field comprised of 11 schools.

Leading the way for Concordia was Abby P. (Sr.) with an 88, Avery C. (Jr.) with a 91, and Emerson S. (Jr.) with a 92. These three girls placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall out of 70+ golfers! The fourth Lady Crusader golfer to finish under 100 was Olivia W. (Jr.) to round out the team score of 367.

The team's official season for TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) is the Spring, but this tune tournament up gave the team an opportunity to play against several public school teams, many of which play year round. According to available school records, this is the first time that the girls golf team competed in a fall tournament as a team entry. (Since the mid 2000's, there have been individual entries in tournaments.)

Looking ahead to the Spring, the Lady Crusaders are seeking to make it back to the State Golf Tournament like they did in 2021, which was the first time in school history for the team to make it to State officially. Last year, in 2022, they narrowly missed out on making the final 8-team tournament.

Head Girls Golf Coach, Cari Raymond, is a breast cancer survivor and was extremely honored that the girls team wanted to find a tournament to compete in during October. The team wore special pink tops to raise awareness as well!
