Concordia honors several students for their end-of-year Excellence Awards in Fine Arts, Athletics, and each Academic Department.

During the 2022-2023 school year, 47 Houston area schools participated in Theatre Under the Stars’ annual Tommy Tune Awards with 155 finalists being name for 18 different award categories. Concordia had two finalists in Ephraim Iwama and Katelyn Hurst as well as a Director’s Choice Performer in Melissa Oblinger at the annual award show.

For the 3rd consecutive year and the 7th in the last 11 years, Concordia has been named the TAPPS 6A Vocal Music State Champions. The Crusader ensembles of Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Women’s Choral, Men’s Chorus, and Sacred 2 combined to clinch Concordia’s 10th Vocal Music title in school history at the end of April.

For the 4th time in 8 years, Concordia has been named the TAPPS 6A State Champions of Instrumental Music. The Crusader ensembles of Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Handbell Choir combined to clinch the title at the end of April.

For the first time in school history, both Boys and Girls Golf Teams will compete alongside each other at the TAPPS 6A State Golf Tournament at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco, TX on May 8-9, 2023.

Nine individual Crusaders qualified for the TAPPS 6A State Track Meet on May 5-6, 2023 in seven different events while all six of Concordia’s relays also qualified by finishing in the top 4 at the District Track Meet at the end of April. Both teams finished in 7th place overall with Ryley Klefstad winning the Pole Vault competition.

Concordia’s Veterinary Science team has had an incredible season with many top-5 finishes and ultimately has advanced to the State Contest for the first time in school history. At the State Contest, the team earned a Top-20 placement!

In the best finish in school history, Concordia’s 2022-2023 Art Team was named TAPPS 6A State Runners-Up at the Spring 2023 State Art Competition.

For the first time in 15 years, all six members of the Concordia Boys Tennis team went to the TAPPS 6A State Tournament in Waco this year along with the three senior girls from the Lady Crusaders tennis team. #1 Boys Doubles team advanced to the State Doubles Semifinals!

Six Crusader athletes from six different teams signed to play at the next level in college at NAIA and NCAA Division III schools in Michigan, Indiana, and Texas.
